Our Proistamenos, Rev. Andreas J. Pavlakos

Fr. Andrew was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Fr. Konstantinos and Presv. Pauline Pavlakos. As a “PK” (Priest’s Kid), during his youth he also lived in Dallas, TX, Syracuse, NY, Denver, CO, and Falls Church, VA. Fr. Andreas graduated from Hellenic College in 2010 with a Bachelors of Arts in Religious Studies and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in 2013 with his Masters of Divinity, with Distinction in both degrees. While a student at HCHC, he was a part of the Sonia Belcher Ambassador's program, traveling around the country leading youth retreats. Fr. Andrew also was the Campus Activities Board Director and President of the student body.
Upon graduation from Seminary, he served as Youth Director and Lay Assistant to the Dean, Fr. Nicholas Bacalis, at Sts. Constantine and Helen Cathedral in Richmond, Virginia. While in Richmond, Fr. Andreas created Camp Good Shepherd-Virginia with Fr. Thomas Manuel, who was the Youth Director of Annunciation Cathedral of Norfolk. In the spring of 2016, he to Clearwater, Florida to begin serving as the Pastoral Assistant at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. That summer, he was ordained to the Holy Diaconate on July 9th and the Holy Priesthood July 10th by the worthy hands of His Eminence Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta at the Metropolis Cathedral of the Annunciation. He served at Holy Trinity as Ephemerios for three years.
Fr. Andreas met his wife, Presvytera Caroline in the summer of 2005 while flying home on Olympic Airlines from the Ionian Village summer camp. They were married April 27, 2014 at Presv. Caroline’s home parish of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn NY. Presv. Caroline is a teacher and holds an M.S. ED in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. They are overjoyed every day to be blessed with their two children, Konstantinos and Penelope.
Fr. Andreas has faithfully been serving the parish of St. George as the Proistamenos since June 2019.
Our Priest, Rev. Vasilios Yacalis
Father Vasilios was born in Connecticut and grew up in Endicott, New York. Following a twenty-year career in law enforcement, he served as a federal contract investigator retained by both the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense. He recently retired from his final role as a contract investigator retained by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency’s Office of Inspector General.
In 2010, Father Vasilios discerned a deeper calling to serve Christ and His Church. This discernment led him to enter the Diaconate Program at Hellenic College/Holy Cross, which he completed in 2014, and he was ordained to the Holy Diaconate in 2018.
In addition to a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Father Vasilios holds a Master of Divinity. After completing his M.Div., he resumed studies at Hellenic College/Holy Cross, where he earned both a Master of Theological Studies and a Master of Theology, graduating with highest distinction in each program. In July 2025, he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood.
In his free time, Father Vasilios is pursuing a Ph.D. at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and enjoys boating, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson.
